the story
Art was always a hobby for David Findley growing up in Cleveland, OK. Drawing, painting, designing, creating have always been passions of his. He chased his dream receiving a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma in 1982. That same year he was able to blend his passions with profession taking a visual art teaching position at McAlester Public Schools.
In 1993 David began Art by David as a part time screen printing business. In part, screen printing was another artistic hobby...another way to express his creativity while helping his students discover their creative genes. Fueled by his love for art, he drew his early designs by hand. It was a time consuming, tedious process, but he enjoyed it.
What began as a hobby slowly, steadily, grew into a full-fledged screen printing business. In 2011 he retired from school teaching to screen print and run Art by David full time. In 2013 Art by David added its second employee after he hired his wife, Kay Findley upon her retirement from teaching. The wise decision paid off and the business has flourished ever since.
From small orders to larger orders of 3,000 or more, Art by David can handle it. They have printed shirts for camps, schools, teams, clubs, organizations, churches, and families. Over the years they have earned the business of many returning customers due to their quality designs, prompt work, and customer service.
David likes to think of himself as an artist first, screen printer second. You may go to any screen printer you want, but the art, the quality, the service and the speed with which jobs are finished, are among his most proud characteristics of his company. You may find cheaper prices on the internet, but not the quality of Art by David. Remember, "It's not just a t-shirt, it's Art By David!"
